Pet Boarding for Rocklin & Roseville CA Area Dogs & Cats

Pet Boarding Photo

When you must be away, you want to leave your pet with a reliable, responsible caregiver. Our pet boarding facility offers cozy, comfortable boarding with staff who are committed to treating your dog or cat like family. Check out our boarding brochure!

For your convenience we have provided clients with our boarding form here: Download the boarding form, print it, fill it out at home, and bring it to your appointment. You may also fax forms to us at 916.624.8480.

Dog Boarding

For dogs, we have 14 inside runs, 9 outdoor covered runs, and a fenced-in play area. Dogs that stay with us are boarded in one of our indoor runs. Once daily, your dog is let out to one of our outdoor runs while his or her main run is cleaned and disinfected. Weather permitting, your pet is taken outside to our play yard twice daily for time to romp and enjoy the outdoors. Our kennel staff observes them closely while outdoors, to ensure there are no escape artists and to monitor bodily functions. If your dog has a favorite toy to play with outside, feel free to bring it and let the staff know you want your pet to have one-on-one attention.

Cat Boarding

Our boarding cats are kept in cages in a cozy laundry room, much like they might have at home. They are observed and talked to often, as the kennel staff frequents that area to wash and fold laundry. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to allow boarded cats free roam outside their cages. Litter boxes are cleaned as soon as soiled and noticed. Cat cages are cleaned and disinfected daily. It is not unusual to find our kennel staff taking laundry breaks by cuddling our boarding cats.

Medical Boarding

As a veterinary hospital, we are committed to the health of your pet. Integrating our hospital with our boarding facility puts us in a unique position to care for your pet’s medical needs. We administer medications and monitor treatment progress as required for your pet’s health condition. Our staff veterinarians can make decisions and recommendations, if need be, while your pet is boarding with us. We are also able to spot new problems that might occur during his or her stay and call you with recommendations.

Vaccine & Disease Control

Disease control is paramount in our boarding facility. As a veterinary hospital, we are particularly equipped and knowledgeable about your pet’s health. Rocklin Road Animal Hospital safety regulations require current vaccines against the common communicable diseases for all of our boarded pets. If you have your vaccines done somewhere other than at our clinic, please be prepared to show us vaccine records or provide us with the hospital name that vaccinates your pet. We also require treatment for external parasites (mainly fleas) if we see that your pet needs this.

It is our goal to communicate clearly with each client. Consequently, allow 15–30 minutes to check-in your dog or cat for boarding, especially if you are new to us or your pet has special needs or instructions. We will ask you for an emergency phone number where we can reach you or, if you are unavailable, a person that can make decisions for your pet. If you would like updates, feel free to call us anytime during your animal’s stay.

We encourage you to bring your pet’s food, feeding instructions, toys, blankets, and so on. We only ask that you label each item so we know who it belongs to when we launder it. We also warn you that some of your bedding may go home soiled if we haven’t had time to launder it the day you pick up your pet.

Grooming While Boarding

We offer bathing services by our kennel staff so your pet is sent home clean and smelling sweet. If you board your pet for 7 days or more, the bath is complimentary; otherwise there is a fee for this service.

We also offer professional grooming on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by Janice Wagg. Simply inform our staff at the time you make boarding arrangements, and we can schedule a grooming with Janice before you pick up your pet. Visit our Pet Grooming page for more information about that service.

  • We are not a 24-hour facility, and your pet will be alone during the night.
  • We are closed for drop-off and pick-up on the six major holidays, as well as Friday after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas.
  • When dropping off your pet for boarding, please arrive before 5:00 pm (3:00 pm on Saturday) so your dog or cat can get settled in before we go home for the night.

“Words cannot express the deep gratitude we feel for your kindness in helping us say good bye to Tippy. Your understanding and willingness to go out of your way meant so much to us. You helped make a difficult time easier to bear because we knew she was not traumatized by it and went peacefully under your care.” ~ Harry and Ida P.
