Vaccine & Disease Control Disease control is paramount in our boarding facility. Because we are a veterinary hospital we are particularly equipped and knowledgeable about your pet’s health. For your pet’s health we require current vaccines against the common communicable diseases on all of our boarders . If you have your vaccines done other than at our clinic please be prepared to show us vaccine records or provide us with the hospital name that vaccinates your pet. We also require treatment for external parasites (mainly fleas) if we see that your pet needs this.
Grooming While BoardingWe offer bathing services by our kennel staff if you like so your pet is sent home clean and sweet smelling. If you board your pet for 7 days or more the bath is complimentary, otherwise it only costs $20-$24 depending on size. We also offer professional grooming on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by Janice Wagg. Just let our staff know and we can schedule Janice to groom your pet before you pick them up.

Our Medical BoardingAs a veterinary hospital we are committed to the health of your pet. Integrating our hospital with our boarding facility puts us in a unique position to care for your pet, especially if he or she has medical needs. We will administer medications and monitor treatment progress as required for your dog or cat’s health condition. Our staff veterinarians can make decisions and recommendations, if need be, while your pet is boarding with us. We are also able to spot new problems that might occur during their stay and call you with recommendations. |

DOG BOARDING
For dogs, we have 14 inside runs, 9 outdoor covered runs and a fenced in play area. Dogs that stay with us are boarded in one of our indoor runs. Once daily, your dog will be let out to one of our outdoor runs while his or her main run is cleaned and disinfected. Twice daily your pet is taken outside, weather permitting, to our play yard. He or she is allowed to romp and enjoy the outdoors. Our kennel staff observes them the entire time to ensure there are no escape artists and to monitor their..., well..., bodily functions. If your dog has a favorite toy to play with outside, feel free to bring it, and let the staff know you want them to play with your pet.

CAT BOARDING
Our boarding cats are kept in cages in a cozy laundry room, much like they might have at home. They are observed and talked to often, as the kennel staff is frequently in and out of that room washing and folding laundry. Unfortunately, due to their escape artist nature, our boarding cats are not allowed free roam outside their cages. Their litter box is cleaned as soon as it is soiled and noticed. Their cage is cleaned and disinfected daily. It is not unusual to find one of the kennel staff taking a laundry break by cuddling one of the cats.

A Typical Day at our FacilityMonday through Friday: 8:00 AM the staff arrives, all animals are briefly surveyed and morning medications are given. Any problems noticed by the kennel staff are brought to the attention of the hospital staff, who then would contact you. 8:15-11:00 AM Dogs are briefly taken outside to the play yard to relieve themselves, kennels and cat cages are cleaned and animals are fed. 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM your dog is taken outside to the play yard to romp for awhile. Dogs are taken one at a time, unless they have “brothers or sisters” that you want them to play with. 3:30-4:00 PM your dogs are taken outside for a second romp in the play yard. By 5:00 PM dinner is being served for both cats and dogs. Evening treatments are done between 5:00PM and 6:00 PM. The kennel staff leaves the hospital between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. Saturday: The routine is similar although compressed. The staff is at the hospital from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.
Sunday and Holidays: Our kennel technician comes in for several hours in the morning and several hours in the evening to perform the tasks described in the Monday-Friday section. There is a veterinary technician and veterinarian on call for any problems. You must prearrange a Sunday pet pickup. Notes:
